Conchas Lake

Conchas Lake is a reservoir located in northeastern New Mexico, USA. It is situated in San Miguel County, about 35 miles northwest of the town of Tucumcari. The lake was formed by Conchas Dam, which was built on the Canadian River in the early 1930s.
Conchas Lake is a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping, and other recreational activities. The lake offers a variety of fish species, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, catfish, and crappie. There are numerous camping facilities and picnic areas throughout the lake's shoreline, as well as hiking and biking trails and horseback riding opportunities.
Visitors can also explore nearby attractions, such as the Conchas Lake State Park, which offers water sports, camping, hiking, and wildlife watching; the Tucumcari Historical Museum, which documents the history of the area; and the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum, which features a collection of fossils and dinosaur skeletons.
